Biography

  • Adam Marx recently concluded his role as Vice President of Government Relations for the North Region at Steward Health Care. Adam oversaw advocacy efforts across state and local government for 12 high public payer hospitals in the Massachusetts, Ohio, and Pennsylvania markets. Adam provided strategic counsel across a variety of domains – including Medicaid reimbursement, regulatory strategy to optimize service delivery, and legislative advocacy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this role, Adam served in government relations roles at Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). At BILH, Adam successfully managed the regulatory and public affairs strategy for a multi-system corporate
    affiliation which involved favorable reviews across four distinct state and federal agencies. Adam also served as an Associate General Counsel in the Regulatory Practice Group where we managed matters related to health care safety and quality. Adam began his career in the Massachusetts legislature working for now Speaker Ronald Mariano, where he helped develop and secure passage of landmark health care legislation – including Massachusetts’ 2012 cost containment law. Adam has served as the Chair of the Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals Government Relations Committee, as a member of the MA Health and Hospital Association Standing Committee on Public Affairs, and as a member of the Boston Bar Association and MA Bar Association. Adam is a graduate of Denison University and Suffolk University Law School, where he was a 3 year research assistant for the late Jeffrey Wittenberg. Adam lives in Natick with his wife Lori and his dog Lucy.
